Personal Review :
I've always wanted to stop at Pacific Rim Restaurant. It's a very nice
looking restaurant from the outside (we had stalled for some time stopping
by since it seemed to be a place where one should be nicely dressed, but as
it turns out, casual is fine).
We finally got around to it for a
Mother's Day lunch this year. Not first that Pacific Rim is not solely
Chinese as we first expected, but a combination of various Asian foods.
We were early, so we were the only people
in the restaurant for quite awhile. The decor was nice, clean, and
comforting with adequate but low lighting. We ordered the Pu-Pu Tray as
and appetizer (normally a tray for two, but they actually brought out
enough for 3...another story further on). The appetizers were very good
and filling...almost too much so. For entree's, we ordered Teriyaki Chicken,
Tempura Shrimp and Jae Yuk Guey. All were excellent and reasonably priced.
It was a very enjoyable lunch-time meal in pleasant surroundings. The small
hitch came at the end when paying for our meal. They realized after we payed
that they had brought Pu-Pu Tray for 3 even though we had ordered the Pu-Pu
Tray for 2 (as listed on the menu). They charged an extra $5 for the third
serving. A bit of a hassle, but I didn't mind at the time (mother's day and
all, and we did eat a serving for 3). However, just a word of caution, make
sure you're clear when you order what you want. This 'incident' would not
keep us from going back. Pacific Rim is worth a return trip.
