Personal Review : {11 Feb. 2000}
We visited Johansson's Dining House in Wesminster back in October on a spur
of the moment decision...upon seeing the restaurant as we drove through
the downtown area. Our first quandry encountered was trying to find figure
out where to park, driving around the block a couple times. Turns out, there's
a public lot right across the street which provides easy access.
We enjoyed our lunch, though, to be honest, I've already forgotten what we
had other than an order of the Bratwurst. But we had a nice leisurely lunch
with fairly good service. There were the usual turn-offs though. The front
area of the restaurant is a bar (a local micro brewery) with a couple rooms of tables for diners.
This whole area reaked of smoke. Naturally, the bathrooms and the pay phone
which I had wanted to use were located in this area (preventing me from using
the phone, and having to hold my breath getting to the bathrooms). The non-
smoking area was what appeared to be a narrow, but long, addition to the
building fronting Rt. 29. This was a nice eating area, but there were no
shades on the long wall of windows to block the mid-day sun...very annoying.
Again, a reasonably nice lunch, but given the negative aspects, and the
moderate+ pricing, I'm not sure we would go out of our way to return.
