I am on the HST/WFC3 team, currently working on improving the photometric calibration of the Wide Field Camera 3. You can find more information about WFC3 at this website WFC3 is a 4th generation HST instrument, installed in the Hubble Space Telescope during Servicing Mission 4 in May, 2009. It replaced the Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2).

Science Research

My research interests are broad.

I collaborate with the Supernova Cosmology Project , led by Saul Perlmutter.

One of my favorite subjects is the whole area of calibration: how to improve the accuracy and the precision of astronomical calibration. At present, I am concentrating on the absolute photometric calibration of the WFC3, that is, with reference to an SI-based scale. SI, the International System of Units, is the system of weights and measures adopted by the international science and commerce communities, and, in which, the base physical units are: kilogram, meter, second, ampere, kelvin, candela and mole.
