More Work

I continued working on the ldap index problem.

Shot Self in Foot

The ext performance problem turned out to be user error, as I guessed yesterday, but it took me a while to figure it out. I also spent a lot of time attending meetings.

Performance Testing

Today I looked at the performance of ldap. It looks like the log files on slappy3 and slappy4 are getting rotated. I modfied my performance testing script to only search on indexed fields and saw a tremendous speedup. However, when I made the same change to the ext command, I didn't see the same speedup, which is very puzzling. I'm wondering now whether I changed it correctly.

Best Links

I got the bestlinks application running again, which finds the most often requested pages for common search terms. I also looked at the par code to try to find a discrepancy with determining the division reviewer.

More Fixes

I did more debugging of cmlib

Bug Fixes

I responded to a bug report about downloading via ftp in ldap. I wrote a preliminary report for ldap performance testing. And I did a little more debugging of cmlib.

Unit Testing

I spent the day, making the final coding changes to cmlib, revising the unit tests, and getting them to pass. All unit tests pass, except for those in ContentManager. I'll put aside the problem for now and move onto preformance testing ldap.

Coding Fool

I wrote up my notes from my meeting with Gretchen. I also finished changes to SubpageData and NestedTemplate and moved onto revising SingleRecordData and MultiRecordData to bring them in line with the new standard. I still need to revise TextData, ContentManager and test the lot.

More Testing

I did more testing of the cmlib library code I will use in the CMO staff page. I also interviewed Gretchen for the wiki committee.

I worked at enhancing cmlib to support the SMO web page ldap info update.
