Two Problems Solved

The Zope permissions problem turned out to have a simple cause: a displayed element (Boxy) had its audience set to STSCI. Setting it to anonymous fixed the problem. I went back to coding the ftp download script and finished it (for now).

All Ways at Once

I debugged some of the web code I will use to put ldap info into the SMO web page. I also worked on the script to download an ftp site and was handed a permissions problem bug on the jwst web page.

The Return of PAR

Greg is incoporating my date changes into the Gemini code and asked for documentation on how it worked. I re-read the source code and added documentation to it. While I was not doing that, I started writing a Perl script to download a wiki via ftp. Right now it is only a proof of concept.

Side Projects

I worked the science mission ldap integration project and the fetch the wiki into files problems. In the latter case I ran into problems both fetching with ftp and fetching with wget.

Applications

I modified my ldap reports script so that it can use stscimatrixunit and then did more testing and bug fixing on cmlib.

Next Problem

I fixed the permissions problem. Talked with Steve about what comes next and moved onto performance testing. I revised the torture script so that it now tests ldap performance. I ran a number of tests, it seems to work fine.

Planning

There was a lot of back and forth about ingesting the ldap email files. There will be a deployment review November 4th at 9. There is a problem with the matrix ou permissions, I prepared to fix it tomorrow morning,

Success

The schema changes to ldap installed successfully. After testing the changes I returned to debugging NestedTemplate.pm and Subpage.pm.

Ready for Next Time

I'm getting ready for the next install attempt. In the mean time I continued work on cmlib.

Schema Change Fail

I did the schema change with Patrick this morning and had to back it out when the change failed. I spent most of the day trying to figure out why and I reported my reasoning. We're having a pack failure in Zope and we are trying to figure that out.
