A Man, A Plan

I finished the update of the itsd folder (fixing the Tiny Tables), wrote the test plan, and submitted a move request. I submitted a request to test Selenium. And I started looking for the problem in the packdb script.

Call It Quits

I tried changing the code to edit TinyTables, but ran into problems. So I backed out the changes and the TinyTables will have to be edited by hand. Updating the Center site will require the following steps:

Copy FixCenter and fixcenter to production
Rename the center folder to itsd
Run the script
Edit the TinyTables by hand
Update remaining mentions the Center in the document body

I think we'll only need to freeze the site while renaming it.

Forward Movement

I got the FixCenter method debugged. The only remaining problem is that it doesn't update tiny tables. I am looking at what is involved and may punt on this.

More Debugging

I'm trying to track down the problem in FixCenter. It looks like the body is getting munged somehow. I still need to figure this out.

Frustrated

I resolved the display problems with the code to fix the center site. However, to my frustration, when I went "live" and tried to update the page, nothing actually got changed.

Back to the Center

I spent the day debugging my code to search and replace links that contain center with itsd. It mostly works, but I'm having some problems with the output it produces.

Protection added

I added my usual authentication code to webspider and am now testing iit.

Fix the Center Site

I spent the day writing a method to replace links in the itsd that point to /intitute/center with /institute/itsd.

Rework

I got the results back from the web spider and saw that there's no chance that we'll be able to use it as is to debug our site. So I set to work on two changes. The first is to use password authorization to allow it to view the whole site. The second is to dump intemediate results to a file between runs so it can be run in a segmented fashion. I also did some analysis on the Apache log files to check the results of my searchterms script and started work on renmaing the center folder.
