Netstats Again

Back to Netstats. I finished making the code changes and moved it over to Sayer to debug. It looks like it's losing all the counts. I'll have to debug that tomorrow.

Another Problem

I disabled the TWikiGuest account and handed the TWiki over to Edwin. I looked at the Zope Find bug fix to see why it worked on develop but not test. I haven't been able to resolve this yet.

Permission Problems

Edwin said the HLA site was accessible outside the Institue without a password. I was unable to make it work both inside the Institute without a password and outside with a password despite following the example in the Apache book. My thought is to make all access by password only, but there is still one hole I need to close.

TWiki Done

I finished configuring access control and janded the TWiki over to Edwin.

Access Control

I've set up permissions on the HLA TWiki to be more or less identical to thos on Sage. Tomorrow I'll check everything out and revise the permissions to make it accessible by everyone at STScI.

TWiki for HLA

I copied over the TWiki tar file, created the directory, set permission, edited the configuration files, yada, yada. I'm waiting for an Apache restart so I can do the configuration necessary in TWiki. After that I'll set the access controls the way the HLA wants them.

Moving On

The last part of the problem with the Software Reviews folder happened because two Python scripts in the folder had their contents missing. I restored the contents from test and everything looks fine now. Julia wanted me to remove a folder from the Sage TWiki. Because it has to be remove at the OS level, I passed the request on to Dan. I started looking at the new TWiki installation and will do the installation tomorrow.

More Problems

I got Jim to install the permission fixes to the software reviews folder. I tested the changes by trying to add a request for a review. It failed, because I missed fixing one method's permissions. So I did a double check on everything in the folder and moved it over again. (Had Jim move it over.) This time it failed on a resource not found error. I'll ask the developers for help in tracking down the problem on Monday. While waiting for various stuff to happen I continued working on revising the backend of netstats to police itself for errors. There was some redesign of code because I had mad a mistake in understanding the flow of th code.

Two Problems

I moved the fixed Reviews folder to production. There are still problems with permissions on two methods (I didn't check methods.) I will move the revised folder over tomorrow when Jim returns. I worked on Edwin's problem with netstats by modifying the logic of the code to comput the various sums side by side and then compare them and dumpt any mismatches to a file. The code is almost complete and I will test it tomorrow. Jim Younger reported a bug in my fix for Leigh's finder problem. It turns out all the steps in the move weren't completed.

Point and Click

I spent the day updating software review folder permissions in Zope. Tomorrow I'll move the repaired folders back to production.
