The cgi script works fine when run from the command line, but throws
an obscure error message when run as a cgi script:

An unhandled error occurred during initialization:
There is no file named /dev/null/

I've stopped work until someone on the Spike team can explain the
error.

I wrote and started testing the cgi interfacing code for Mike's
script.

I redid the cgi script based on some ideas I had over the
weekend. Everything is done except for the cgi interfacing.

I got the backbone of Mike cgi-bin script working. It now generates the
gif files and put them in the output directory. Now I need to redirect
output to a log file and package it as a cgi-bin script.

The quoting problems with the orient report proved too daunting so I
tried an alternate approach. Files are written under their default
names in a new temporary directory, which is deleted at the end of the
task. This worked. I wrote, but have not yet tested, the code that
interfaces to the Postscript plot tasks. The remaining code will
convert these plots to GIF format and do the cgi interfacing.

I also chaired the first meeting of the infrastructure domain and
wrote up the minutes.

I worked on Mike's cgi-bin script, but ran into problems with quoting.

I worked on the wiki corruption bug, fixed a problem with the curators
list for Nancy, and at Mike's request looked at what it would take to
run an IDL script as a cgi-bin script.

Today I worked on Leigh's copy bug and a bug in the curator list
generation program.

I continued the installation of the WingIDE. I got Zope compiled and
running, but couldn't compile WingIDE. It said it couldn't find the
source for Python.

This morning I finished my analysis of the PDF hotfix and reported
that it shouldn't be applied. Then I worked on getting Zope 2.6
installed on ubik. I also finished the new version of my templating
code.
