I spent yesterday and today working on the problem we are having with
corrupted metadata. I've written a method called showbogus to detect
the problem. The problem seems to be isolated rather than spread
throughout the site. I still have to think about the proper way to fix
the problem.

Mark Calvin pointed out some problems with the LDAP to Palm download,
so I made some trial changes to see if they fixed the problem. Sandy
finished testing the LDAP to Outlook download and sent me some
suggestions, such as clearer instructions on installing the Palm to
Outlook bridge.

I got the end user editor into CVS, wrote up a test plan, and cleared
up some old calls that I had neglected.

I moved the end user editor changes to gojira and tested them to make
sure they worked.

Today I worked on getting the backlog of moves in the Zope test queue
cleared out.

Today I finished work on the science staff popup script. I converted
the code to use a tiny table and cleaned up some of the problems with
the script.

I've got the ldap method mostly working. I still have to sort out the
target attribute and opening/closing the popup window.

I started writing the new method to retrieve a single record from
ldap, which I'm calling ldapsearch. I put it in
/stsci/institute/sd/ldapsearch.

I think I figured out why Michele couldn't get any results from her
catalog search and wrote an explanation for her. I wrote a new Perl
procedure to dump the email address and division for each person in
ldap so that we can check things. Various other small ldap cleanup
tasks were done. I looked at several reported problems of metadata
corruption, but they all seem to have mysteriously worked themselves
out.

In the morning I helped Greg with a problem Remedy has in displaying
long call logs. It turned out to be a problem with the sql truncating
the call log. In the afternoon I worked Michele's problem with
displaying help procedures. I made some progress, but don't have a
solution yet.
