Today I investigated problems when using the end user editor with
Netscape 4.7. There were two problems. The first is that the textare
was tiny when Javascript was disabled. I fixed this by putting an
explicit number of rows and columns on the textarea. The second
problem is that Netscape 4.7 doesn't display a textarea when
Javascript is enabled. It appears that the InitEpoz function is not
being executed. But is not clear to me why. I will be on summer
vacation until July 9th, so this problem will have to sit for a while.

I solved the problem of editing ST documents with Epoz and was able to
figure out how to embed it in the end user editor. Some of the buttons
don't work in Mozilla. It seems to be some sort of Javascript
permission problem.

Today I got epoz to work on Ubik and was exploring its possibilities
and limitations. The biggest problem is that it can't edit ST
documents in Mozilla.

I spent the day working on the end user editor. I got everything I
wanted to work working and then started into trying to get Epoz to
work on our site.

I didn't get every file I needed for the security briefing, so today I
figured out how to get the remaining pieces. I solved the problem with
wrapping documents, but unfortunately the solution broke the method I
used to return to the original web page. I'm fooling around with using
cookies to find a solution to that problem.

I was on vacation Monday and Tuesday. Today I downloaded the security
briefing flash files for Matt, which was harder than it sounds, and
revised the end user editor to key off of comments in the html
file. The latter fix is still being debugged.

I spent all day working on the end user editor. The problem is to put
the editable text inside a div block. This required some code parsing
and use of regular expressions. This works, sort of, but the problem
is that I am working with the rendered rather than the unrendered
code. I need to interpose my code beween the two.

I started the day by helping greg write a script to determine if
Remedy's mail server is down. Then I worked on the end user editor
problem with documents. The problem occurs because documents have a
standard header and footer added to them. I revised the code to
determine if a document is editable, but the code to add the edit link
needs to be reworked so that it adds the link inside content fraiming
tags.

Today was spent getting stuff in the test queue tested and fixing the
resulting problems.
